Pepper Steak in the Crock Pot

Pepper Steak - Sounds Fancy :)

Ingredients

1) 1 lb round steak (Beef)
2) 1 green bell pepper
3) 1 red bell pepper
4) 1 onion
5) 1 clove of garlic
6) 6 Tablespoons Bragg's Liquid Aminos or low sodium soy sauce - There is a link to Bragg's through Amazon on the side.
7) 1 Teaspoon black pepper

Directions

1) Slice steak, peppers and onions into strips
2) Quickly brown steak in frying pan over high heat - This step is optional as I don't like using another pan besides my crock pot but it does seal in the flavor.
3) Mince (or press) garlic and place in crock pot
4) Add beef, peppers, onions, Bragg's (or low sodium soy sauce) and black pepper
5) Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
6) Enjoy!

  1. To thinly slice meat, freeze it for an hr or so, so it's firm. Use a sharp knife to slice it. :)

  2. My wife likes these recipes because they are within my skill set, and this is the second one I've cooked. Second recipe with left overs as I made a double recipe. This time I heated a large tortilla on the griddle, placed this slices of cheddar cheese to cover the tortilla and added a strip of meat, peppers and onions down the middle. Rolled it up and finished heating this in the microwave. We both liked it enough to consider cooking the recipe just for the tortilla rollups next time.

    1. But clean eating would not include tortillas.... Maybe a whole wheat version

  3. I used the low sodium soy sauce and found it way too spicy and had to add to calm it down, would it be just as spicy if I used the Braggs?

  4. I'm pretty sure it was the tablespoon of pepper that made it too spicy. I'm not putting anywhere near that much pepper next time.

  5. I need help with this one. My flavor was great but my meat turned to mush, I turned the dish into soup. Can you Please tell me what I might have done wrong?

  6. Searing a steak does not seal in flavor. The benefit to searing is caramelizing the outside creating extra flavors from the Maillard reaction. I highly encourage this additional step for this recipe!
